Roller Derby 101 – the summer 2022 session

Ottawa Valley Roller Derby is back and will be holding a new session of Roller Derby 101 this summer! If you think you’d like to learn how to play roller derby or skate, this is your chance!

Who?
All genders, ages 18 and up welcome!

When?
Tuesday nights from 7pm to 9pm, June 28th to August 16th 2022.

Where?
Rideau Curling Club (715 Cooper Street, Ottawa, ON)

Covid-19 safety:
To do our best to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable community members, OVRD league policy is that
a) all skaters must wear masks at all times except to hydrate
b) all skaters must provide proof of vaccination (PLEASE EMAIL PROOF TO: rollerderby101@ottawavalleyrollerderby.com)

Gear:
All skaters must wear a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, and a mouth guard.

Gear rentals are available for knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards but each person needs their own helmet and mouth guard.

If you are thinking about buying your own gear check out LowLife MTL in Montreal or RollerGirl.ca in Vancouver – both ship equipment.

Cost:
The cost of the session is $170 (not including $30 insurance fee) with financial aid available if required. No refunds.

TO REGISTER:

1. Complete OVRD’s Roller Derby 101 (Summer 2022) Registration Form
2. Register for WFTDi skating insurance by completing their Online Membership Form
   • Make sure to check “Ottawa Valley Roller Derby” as your league – NOT Ottawa Roller Derby
   • ENTER 06/28 (June 28th) as the membership activation date.
   • Pay your $30 insurance fee to WFTDi
3. Pay your registration fee through ONE of the options below:
   • E-transfer of $170  to finance@ottawavalleyrollerderby.com
     • Use the security question: “Who do we roll with?” and Answer: “OVRD2022”

    • Please note this takes into account the $6.68 PayPal Processing Fees
