Roller Derby 101 – the Winter 2020 session

Ottawa Valley Roller Derby will be holding a new session of Roller Derby 101 this winter. If you think you’d like to learn to play roller derby, this is your chance!

DATES AND TIMES:
RD101 will run on Thursday nights for 2 hours (8:15pm-10:15pm) at Hintonburg Community Centre (1064 Wellington Street West, 2nd Floor Gym) starting on January 9th through to March 26th, 2020

** There may be some exception dates and/or last minute changes to the schedule (example March Break) so be sure to look out for weekly e-mails from the RD101 Coaches to keep fully updated on the schedule **

FEES AND INSURANCE:
The cost of the session is $250, which includes the registration fee ($220) and mandatory skating insurance ($30).

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
To be able to participate in RD101, you will need: quad roller skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, a helmet, and a mouth guard

If you don’t have the gear you’ll need to participate in the program, email us ASAP, as we may have gear for you to borrow temporarily. We have a very limited supply of skates, helmets, wrist/elbow/knee pads.

TO REGISTER:

1. Complete OVRD’s Roller Derby 101 (Winter 2020) Registration Form
2. Complete 2019/2020 WFTDi Canada East Online Membership Form
• Under “League:” SELECT “Ottawa Valley Roller Derby” – not Ottawa Roller Derby
• Under “Type of Membership you need:”  SELECT “I am a BRAND NEW SKATER wanting apprenticeship membership for 3 months $30”
• Under “Membership Activation Date:” ENTER 01/09 (January 9th)
• Under “Paying Via” SELECT “email transfer to wftdicanada@wftda.com” HOWEVER DO NOT TRANSFER MONEY TO THEM – OVRD will take care of sending your $30 insurance fee to WFTDi via a mass transfer for all new skaters.
3. Send your payment of $250 to OVRD
