Free Roller Derby Day – Saturday, July 11th

Multiple Roller Derby leagues based in Ottawa (including the Rideau Valley Roller Girls) will be hosting a series of short games to showcase the world’s fastest growing sport. Marion Dewar Plaza in front of Ottawa City Hall is the setting for the Free Roller Derby Day – Saturday, July 11th, from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Skaters and officials from Women’s, Men’s, and Junior (9-18) Roller Derby leagues will be on hand to answer questions about the game. Come learn how to join as a skater or as a referee, or where you can see even more roller derby in the city. Free Roller Derby Day will culminate with a black and white full contact co-ed scrimmage.

Come spend the afternoon enjoying free outdoor roller derby and the amazing food trucks that will be on site to satisfy your hunger. Modern flat-track roller derby is storming the nation’s capital. So, join the Facebook Event, grab your friends and family, and come check out the Free Roller Derby Day at City Hall on Saturday, July 11th!
