Junior Roller Derby is coming to Ottawa!
A non-profit league is being established to provide boys and girls a fun and safe environment to learn flat track roller derby! This is a non-contact sport for kids aged 9-18, using modified rules outlined by the Junior Roller Derby Association. The league is currently recruiting girls and boys who want to learn how to play roller derby and have fun!
On Sunday January 26th, an information session will be held at 2pm in the Fencing Room above Norm Fenn Gym at Carleton University. This meeting will offer a Q&A to answer questions about the start up of junior roller derby; including what roller derby is, equipment needs, costs, schedule and more. If you are unable to attend but would still like some information, please send an email to: ottawajuniorrollerderby@gmail.com.
Practices will be held most Saturdays from 2:15-4:15pm at Hintonburg Community Centre, located at 1064 Wellington Street West in Ottawa. First practice will be February 15th.
